Smart Choice Public Adjuster, LLC ("Smart Choice", "we", "us") is a licensed public adjusting firm at 24208 Club View Drive, Gaithersburg, MD 20882. This policy explains what information we collect from the policyholders we represent and visitors to our website, how we use it, and how we protect it.

Information we collect

We collect the information you provide when you contact us, sign a Letter of Representation or Public Adjuster Agreement, or submit a claim inquiry through our website. This includes your name, property address, mailing address, phone number, mobile number, email address, insurance company, policy number, claim number and the documents, photographs and correspondence related to your insurance claim.

How we use your information

We use your information to represent you in your insurance claim, communicate with your insurance company and contractors on your behalf, prepare estimates and claim documentation, send you updates about your claim, and comply with our obligations as a licensed public adjuster under Maryland and Virginia law.

Text messaging

If you check the optional text message consent box in our Public Adjuster Agreement, we will send you text messages about the status of your insurance claim, including claim updates, inspection reminders, document requests and payment notifications. Message frequency varies depending on the activity on your claim. Message and data rates may apply. You can reply HELP for help or call 240-787-1852, and you can reply STOP at any time to stop receiving text messages. Consent to text messages is not a condition of retaining our services.

We do not share mobile numbers or texting consent

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

When we share other information

We share claim information only as needed to handle your claim: with your insurance company and its adjusters, with contractors, engineers, appraisers and attorneys working on your claim at your direction, with service providers who host our software and send our communications on our behalf, and when required by law or regulation. We do not sell your personal information.

How we protect your information

Claim files are stored in secure, access-controlled systems. Access is limited to Smart Choice staff and the professionals working on your claim.

Your choices

You may ask us to correct or delete your personal information, or to stop contacting you, by emailing claims@smartchoicepublicadjuster.com or calling 240-787-1852. Some claim records must be retained as required by state insurance regulations.

Program description

Smart Choice Public Adjuster, LLC sends text messages to policyholders who have opted in, providing updates on the status of their insurance claim, inspection appointment reminders, requests for claim documents and notifications when claim payments are issued.

How to opt in

You opt in by checking the text message consent box in the Smart Choice Public Adjuster Agreement and providing your mobile number. Consent is optional and is not a condition of retaining our services.

Message frequency

Message frequency varies depending on the activity on your claim.

Cost

Message and data rates may apply. Check with your mobile carrier for details about your plan.

How to opt out

Reply STOP to any message to cancel at any time. You will receive one final message confirming that you have been unsubscribed. After that you will receive no further text messages from Smart Choice unless you opt in again.
